Last week the government announced details regarding Phase 4 of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme, which aims to provide vital funding to public sector organisations across the UK, to implement energy efficiency measures and decarbonisation projects, helping more organisations achieve their net zero goals.
Salix Finance will once again be delivering the scheme on behalf of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
One of the key points announced was that under Phase 4 the grants will be awarded using a more targeted method, unlike in previous years where it was purely based on a first come, first served basis. Projects delivering the best value for money based on the most direct carbon emission reductions will be prioritised during assessment. This will ensure funding is targeted towards high quality projects that contribute most to the scheme’s carbon saving goal.
Salix Finance have said that further details about the allocation process and further guidance for Phase 4 of the PSDS will be in announced in Summer 2024.
